Arianna Huffington's 'Goodnight Smartphone' Is The Bedtime Story We've Been Missing

Remember 'Goodnight Moon'? Well, it's had an update.

Arianna Huffington is bringing back the bedtime story, this time for adults and in the form of an audiobook aptly titled 'Goodnight Smartphone.'

Narrated by Huffington -- the co-founder of The Huffington Post and HuffPost Australia -- she begins with the problem: "In today's technology-saturated world, saying goodnight to the day is harder than ever."

Like the parent of a hyperactive (sleepless) child, she is firm yet encouraging. "That's why it's especially important to ease into that transition by creating a sacrosanct ritual," she explains.

A ritual that does not include videos of animals cuddling. Or Instagram stalking. It's this kind of discipline that she introduced in her previous best-selling book 'The Sleep Revolution.'

Guilty.

The self-described sleep evangelist goes on to reveal how she transitions to sleep and how, everyone has their own way of doing so, but the one she wants to build on is the bedtime story we all learned as kids, 'Goodnight Moon'.

"The list of things encroaching on our night has grown dramatically since 'Goodnight Moon' first begun," Huffington said.

And so, she's taken the liberty of updating the original for the digital age.

The result? 'Goodnight Smartphone' -- a calming, audiobook for grown-ups. Because you're never too old for a bedtime story.

'Goodnight Smartphone' is available for free download via audible.com.au until April 16, 2017.
