Video by Tom Compagnoni Interview by Jenny Haward
Rural and landscape photographer Josh Smith has spent more than six years with his friend, pilot Joe Smith, flying over northern New South Wales to take aerial photographs of the landscapes below.
Based in Narrabri, much of Smith's work showcases the land of farmers -- and friends -- he knows in the region. Capturing the landscape from this unique perspective, Smith is able to highlight the changing colours and patterns of the environment over the course of the seasons, as the crops are sown and harvested.
Creating photographs akin to abstract art, Smith and his pilot have travelled as far as Central Australia in a bid to capture the perfect shot.
