Britney Spears Asks People To Pray For Her Eight-Year-Old Niece After Accident

Sad news for the Spears' family.

Britney Spears has said she needs prayers and wishes for her 8-year-old niece, who's reportedly in a serious condition after a vehicle accident.

Maddie Aldridge, the daughter of Spears' sister Jamie Lynn, was allegedly involved in the ATV accident on Sunday afternoon. The details of the incident are still unclear.

Spears has posted a photo of Aldridge on Twitter saying "need all the wishes and prayers for my niece". Spears' father Jamie said to Entertainment Tonight that "all I can say is pray for our baby Maddie".

Aldridge was allegedly submerged underwater after the vehicle she was in flipped over before she was airlifted to hospital, TMZ first reported.

However a representative from the Spears family has said that the details surrounding the incident aren't correct in a statement to The Huffington Post.

"Details the media are reporting surrounding the incident regarding Jamie Lynn's daughter Maddie are incorrect," the statement said.

"Right now the Spears family asks that everyone respect their privacy during this time and appreciates all the prayers and support for their family."

Jamie Lynn Spears fell pregnant with her daughter when she was 16-years-old to then boyfriend Casey Aldridge.

The proud mother often shares images of Aldridge to her Instagram account showcasing her daughter's school achievements, softball tournaments and holiday celebrations.
