Australian beatmaker Flume has won a Grammy Award for his brilliant sophomore record 'Skin', adding to his impressive collection of shiny trophies.
Flume, aka Sydney 25-year-old Harley Streten, hauled in the Best Dance/Electronic Album Grammy ahead of Jean-Michel Jarre, Tycho, Underworld and Louie Vega.
Flume scored five ARIA awards in November, and on Australia Day topped Triple J's Hottest 100 countdown with 'Never Be Like You'. The hit collaboration with Kai was also nominated for a Grammy in the Best Dance Recording category, but was nabbed by The Chainsmokers' 'Don't Let Me Down.'
Other notable winners include David Bowie's 'Blackstar' sweeping through five categories including Best Rock Album, Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song. As well as Chance the Rapper, who picked up three gongs including Best New Artist.
Adele took home six awards including Song of the Year for her track 'Hello', Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance, Record of the Year and the prestigious Album of the Year, making history by becoming the second female artist after Taylor Swift to have won the award twice.
"This is totally insane!" Flume said in shock as he accepted the award at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
"I'm really proud to be here representing Australian music on this stage right now."
"I want to thank all the collaborators on the record who helped add so much colour and flavour to it."
Fellow Australians Sia and Keith Urban were both nominated in other categories.
Flume launched his career in 2012 with a break-out self-titled album that featured hit tracks 'Sleepless', 'Holdin On' and 'On Top'. Then just 21, he produced all the tracks on a laptop in his bedroom on Sydney's northern beaches.
