Man Hospitalised After Being Assaulted In Bloody Bondi Brawl

The victim was taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a stable condition.

A man has been taken to hospital with head injuries after a wild brawl broke out at the northern end of Sydney's Bondi Beach on Thursday afternoon.

NSW Ambulance Service were called to a grassed area at the beach around 1:10pm after receiving two reports that a male aged in his 30s had sustained serious injuries, a spokesperson told The Huffington Post Australia.

It was also confirmed by NSW Police that they were aware of the brawl in which a man was injured and taken to St Vincent's Hospital "conscious and breathing".

Several reports suggest weapons were used and a number of men were involved in the bashing.

Footage captured by a witness on their mobile phone shows a shirtless man running from two attackers weilding club-like weapons. At one point, the man falls to the ground and one of the attackers hits him on the head.

Some witnesses described the weapons as poles, while others said there was a baseball bat with nails sticking out of it.

Police remain at the scene and have been searching the area for any trace of the weapons used in the attack.
