Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have managed to get back to the studio.
The two former Beatles reunited for a recording session, with Starr posting a photograph on Twitter Sunday of the moment the two surviving members of the hugely influential group had come together.
They got a little help from one of Starrโs longtime collaborators, guitarist Joe Walsh of the Eagles:
Billboard confirmed that McCartney will be appearing on Starrโs upcoming album, which does not yet have a release date.
McCartney also appeared on Starrโs 2010 album, โY Not.โ
The two have joined each other on stage and in the studio a number of times over the years, including a 2015 performance for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well as a 2014 TV special, โThe Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to The Beatles.โ
Starrโs upcoming album is shaping up to be another โAll-Starrโ effort. Along with Walsh and McCartney, other recent tweets from Starr featured Timothy B. Schmit (also of the Eagles), Benmont Tench (of the Heartbreakers), Peter Frampton, Richard Page, Amy Keys and Nathan East joining him in the studio.
