The woman, let's call her Mary Jane, got off with a fine.

A Queensland woman has been left looking a bit dopey after she entered Toowoomba Magistrates Court with marijuana in her handbag.

The 39-year-old woman attempted to enter the court with some of the illicit substance in her bag on January 13, Queensland Police told The Huffington Post Australia.

Security notified police who issued the woman from Harristown with a notice to appear in the very same court, charged with possession of a dangerous drug.

The woman pleaded guilty to the possession charge, The Toowoomba Chronicle reports.

The woman's lawyer said she was in the process of looking for a job and asked that no conviction be recorded.

She was instead fined $300.

Which is a small price to pay, to drum in the idea that court is probably the last place in the world that you should carry drugs into.
