It all started with a snipe on the liberals' future vision for the world, and ended with cute animal memes.
If you haven't already seen it, this tweet from @polNewsNetwork1 got a lot of attention:
A woman wearing a niqab is pictured sitting next to a drag queen on the New York City subway. It's a little incongruous, but hey, what else would you expect from one of the most liberal, cosmopolitan cities in the world?
While the hard right leaning owner of the account was trying to ridicule the idea of diversity and acceptance in public spaces, this spectacularly backfired with people posting creative parody responses of their own.
And thus, a new meme was born.
