A car has ended up on the roof of a house after skidding off the road in eastern China.

The car reportedly left the road and slammed into the house in Taizhou, with the driver blaming the crash on a simple error.

He reportedly said he had tried to dodge a collision but accidentally stepped on the accelerator while shifting direction.

According to reports, police had to use a ladder to rescue him, while thecar was extricated by a crane.
