The dude abides.

John Goodman was honored Friday when he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. As part of the festivities, friend and colleague Jeff Bridges took a moment to pay tribute to Goodman while channeling none other than “The Dude” from the 1998 Coen Brothers cult classic “The Big Lebowski.”

Fortunately, the speech went a lot better than that eulogy for Donny.

“In accordance with what we think may be your final wishes, we have committed to these sidewalks in Hollywood — in the bosom of Hollywood that you love so well — a star,” Bridges said Friday. “A star for you, a star because we love you so well … what time is it? Afternoon? Good afternoon, my sweet prince.”

John Goodman responded to the ceremony with a bit less seriousness and far fewer references to Vietnam than his Lebowski character, Walter Sobchak, probably would have.

Goodman also recently reunited with “Roseanne” co-star Sara Gilbert for a skit based on the sitcom, which ended nearly 20 years ago.
