There are some common Aussie phrases that we all know the meaning of. "She'll be right, mate" means everything will be okay, while "it was chockers" means something is really full.
Well, not surprisingly it turns out that most languages around the world have funny idioms which don't make much sense unless you know what they mean, let alone making any sense whatsoever when translated.

Take an old Portuguese saying for example. When translated it says 'pay the duck', which roughly means to take blame for something you didn't do.
