Man Runs Down A Street In Michigan With Kangaroo On Leash

Detroit Animal Control is investigating the incident.

Wacky things are known to happen in America (Donald Trump became President, after all), but even Detroit residents were stunned when they witnessed a man running down the street with a kangaroo... on a leash.

However, as amusing as the video might be, it has raised serious concerns from Detroit Zoo and Animal Control.

"Unfortunately, this kangaroo likely was acquired through the exotic pet trade," a spokeswoman for the zoo said.

"These animals require special care, housing, proper diet, healthcare and maintenance that the average person cannot provide."

CBS Detroit reportedly tracked down the man in the video, Javon Stacks, who told the television network that he runs a company called 'Exotic Zoo' which travels to schools, libraries and children's birthday parties.

"You have many inner-city kids, they don't have any transportation to the zoo, their parents don't have the finances," he said.

"So we perform at libraries and schools for free and through grants. We like to educate people."

Stacks reportedly brought the kangaroo, named Darwin, to a birthday party and lost control while exercising him.

"There's not a lot of space for a kangaroo to hop around inside so I brought him outside," he said.

"That was the last animal in our show, someone was riding by and they were just filming us and they put it on the internet. A picture is worth a thousand words."
