Journalists Put Out Their Bloopers To Protest Media Colleague's Axeing

Members of the Australian media have shared their own on-air gaffes.

Journalists and presenters around Australia have responded with swift ferocity to the news Natasha Exelby will allegedly be "banned" from the ABC over a blooper which went viral, sharing their own embarrassing on-air gaffes.

Following a story published by News Corp on Monday night that claimed Exelby "would no longer be used in an on-air role", outrage erupted and a petition was started to reinstate her which subsequently cracked the 1,000 signature-mark after just a few hours.

News Corp journalist Holly Byrnes instigated the call-to-arms and got the blooper ball rolling by encouraging her fellow news hounds to show solidarity with Exelby with a #PutYourBloopersOut hashtag.

There was even a blooper from the Queen, Lee Lin Chin, herself. Proving that even TV royalty can have flaws.

An ABC spokeswoman who spoke to Fairfax Media on Monday night would neither confirm or deny the claim that Exelby had been shown the exit, stating she was a casual contributor with the ABC and had been "booked for occasional on-air shifts when needed, and also does other occasional shifts for the ABC News channel".
