A Sydney bus driver has faced court over charges he sexually assaulted a hearing impaired school girl, following a month-long stint of horrifying abuse.
Ahmed Ali allegedly assaulted the teenager while she was alone with him on the bus for special needs students in Sydney's south-west on April 3, the Daily Mail has reported.
The 51-year-old father of six took off the girl's shirt and caused her pain by sucking on her breasts and putting his hands inside her underwear, Bankstown Local Court was told on Tuesday.
"She tried to push him off but was unable to do so," Magistrate Elaine Truscott said while reading out the allegations, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The girl reportedly said she then saw Ali wiping himself with tissues.
Detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse Squad searched the man's home in Base Hill in Sydney's south-west on Monday evening after receiving reports about the alleged abuse.
The defendant was in a position of very significant trust."
Police seized the tissues the man allegedly used following the assault, dash cam footage from the bus, a phone and the bus itself.
The abuse charges follow a string of incidents dating from March 6 where Ali allegedly would go and sit beside the girl on the bus, kiss her on the mouth and grope her breasts and crotch, The Daily Telegraph reports. He has also been accused of showing the teenager pornography on his phone and asking if he liked it.
Ali also reportedly fostered a relationship with the victim's parents, visiting them at their home in the days following the alleged assault.
Ali has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and two counts of aggravated indecent assault of a victim under 16 years and under his care.
He was denied bail in court on Tuesday, with the Magistrate Elaine Truscott saying she believed "there is a strong prosecution case".
"The defendant was in a position of very significant trust and, on the allegations, that trust has been breached in a very serious way," she said in court.
Ali drove the bus for a company employed by the Department of Education, the magistrate said.
The case has been adjourned until June 7.
