When it comes to âGuardians of the Galaxy,â expect a lot Ga-more-a.
OK, admittedly, thatâs not the greatest pun, but weâll have plenty of time to work on them, since James Gunn just announced he will return for a third âGuardians of the Galaxyâ movie.
That means, barring something catastrophic happening in âGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,â Zoe Saldanaâs Gamora, Chris Prattâs Star-Lord, Vin Dieselâs Groot, and the rest of the crew are likely coming back!
Gunn made the announcement on Facebook Monday, saying he wanted to share the news with the fans, aka the âmost important people in the Guardiansverse.â
âYes, Iâm returning to write and direct âGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,ââ he wrote.
Gunn credits his relationships with Marvel and Disney as big factors in his decision to return, saying, âI canât fricking wait to get started.â
Even though âGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2â isnât out until May 5, Gunn teased the newly announced movie, revealing that the third âGuardiansâ would come after âAvengers: Infinity Warâ and âconclude the story of this iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy,â helping to âcatapult both old and new Marvel characters into the next ten years and beyond.â
