A fire which tore through a Queensland bridal store on Wednesday morning has left behind scenes reminiscent of a horror film after it melted mannequins and destroyed dozens of wedding gowns.
'Brides Two Be' was the dream of Chris Stuart, a former underground coal miner, and his wife Noi, who only opened the shop in February.
However, the couple have now been left with "nothing" after the devastating fire claimed all of their stock.
"It's brought tears to my eyes. It's very hard to believe that something like this has happened so quickly," Stuart told Nine's TODAY show.
"This was our dream. Our income. This was it you know. We've got nothing now. But we will rebuilt. We've got no choice."
The couple reportedly invested more than $120,000 in the new business which they hoped would fill a gap in the market for brides in Ipswich, south-east Queensland.
"We're hoping it will give this area a bit of a lift. Most bridal shops are in Brisbane and Ipswich women shouldn't have to go to another city to shop for their wedding," Stuart previously said.
