A US porn star appears to have been mauled by a shark in a video posted online of the dramatic underwater mishap.
Molly Cavalli was left needing 20 stiches after the shocking incident that is said to have occurred while filming a video to promote adult website Camsoda near Florida in April.
Surrounded by sharks the 35-year-old, wearing a revealing one-piece swimsuit, enters a shark cage as part of promotion for the site, the video shows.
But things appear to go terribly wrong, with the video showing a bleeding and upset Cavalli helped back into the boat, suffering a deep gash on her ankle.
While the video doesn't show the actual bite occur, the company behind the shoot said that once in the water Cavalli was bitten on the leg by a Lemon shark.
"The underwater broadcast had to be cut short when Molly's foot stuck out of the cage and was bitten by a lemon shark," a message on the Camsoda YouTube page reads.
"Don't worry though, Molly is doing just fine.
"She had to get 20 stitches but she is in good spirits and grateful for her quick recovery."
There has been some suggestion online that the bite may have been faked as part of a PR stunt.
