Teenager Fighting For Life After Alleged One-Punch Attack

The 17-year-old was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

A Queensland teenager is in a critical condition after an alleged one-punch attack outside a fast food eatery in Brisbane on Friday night.

Queensland Police have alleged that a group of men were involved in the disturbance just before 8:00pm which resulted in a 17-year-old receiving serious head injuries.

He was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Brad Hardy, from Queensland Ambulance, said that the teenager fell backwards and was knocked unconscious after he was hit on the head, the ABC reports.

"He was put in an induced coma at the scene and taken through to Royal Brisbane Hospital," he said.

"He has critical head injuries...significant head injuries at this time".

An 18-year-old man from Kippa-Ring, north-east of Brisbane, has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on 15 May.

Detectives have appealed to any motorists who were in the area at the time of the incident that may have recorded footage of the incident on their dash cam.
