6 Burrito Bowl Recipes For Lazy Weeknight Dinners

They're fast, easy, healthy and delicious.

Burritos are all well and good, but sometimes you just don't want to deal with the splitting sides, messy hands/face/shirt/everything and completely unsatisfactory filling ratio.

That's where burrito bowls come in -- the simpler, less messy and more versatile sister of burritos.

Making your own burrito bowls at home is surprisingly easy and, dare we say, fun. You start with rice (if making from scratch is too much, use pre-cooked rice), then the fillings (beans, chicken, veggies) and finish with the condiments (guac, salsa, herbs).

It's the ultimate lazy person meal. And the results are delicious.

Here are six burrito bowl recipes to get you started.

1. Buffalo chicken burrito bowls

If your go-to is a chicken burrito, make this bowl with tender Buffalo chicken, black beans, pre-cooked rice, corn, cheese and avocado. It's ready in 15 minutes and is completely customisable depending on your taste.

6. Chipotle chicken burrito bowl

Now, if all the above burrito bowl recipes are too time-consuming or too involved, then this seven-ingredient recipe is the one to make. Simply combine shredded chicken (tip: buy a roast chicken from the shops) with cooked rice and black beans, place the mixture on a bed of lettuce and top with guacamole and salsa.
