Get ready to update your spreadsheets, as it seems you can add âLove Islandâ to the ever-growing list of things that get right under Piers Morganâs skin.
The âGood Morning Britainâ presenter launched into a rant about the hit ITV2 reality show, branding the show âtripeâ and its contestants âcomplete cretinsâ.
Piers felt the need to share his thoughts on âLove Islandâ as showbiz correspondent Richard Arnold shared the latest updates from the villa on Wednesdayâs (5 July) edition of âGMBâ.
When co-host Susanna Reid admitted the on-going romances were teaching her a lot about relationships, he raged: âWhat are you learning? They are such complete cretins.
âItâs like a bunch of David Beckhams have been incarcerated with a bunch of the refuseniks from âCelebrity Big Brotherâ, the ones that never got into the actual show itself.
âTheyâve all been put into this hell hole, which is basically designed to scramble my brain and turn me into a complete lump of molten porridge. I canât deal with it any longer.
âAnd millions of people are watching this tripe. What is the matter with this country?â
Susanna argued: âYouâre wrong. Two million people are right.â
âIâm not wrong, Iâm right,â he insisted.
Despite Piers clearly not being a âLove Islandâ fan, this series of the reality show has soared in the ratings, with Mondayâs episode attracting 2.4million viewers.
The figure is in stark contrast to those rival show âBig Brotherâ is currently pulling in, with the Channel 5 show recording its lowest-ever rating over the weekend, with just 650,000 people watching.
âGood Morning Britainâ airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
