Man Stabbed To Death In Melbourne Restaurant Brawl

Police are searching for the killer of a man stabbed to death at a restaurant in Melbourne's west.

The victim was fatally stabbed after an altercation at the restaurant on Gourlay Road just after 2:00am Saturday, police said.

Paramedics treated the wounded man at the scene, but he died a short time later.

It's believed that the offenders fled shortly after the incident.

The lethal attack reportedly occurred during a brawl with uninvited guests at a function at the restaurant.

The victim is yet to be formally identified.

A murder investigation is underway and investigators have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
