2018: It'll be a big year for music lovers.

Pop superstars Pink and Sam Smith are coming to Australia in 2018, but their planned touring styles couldn't be more different.

Pink has dropped dates for 14 concerts in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane for July and August of next year. She also set out the details for her 40-concert tour of North America.

By contrast, Smith will be performing just one gig -- an intimate show at the Sydney Opera House.

But 14 concerts may not even be enough for Pink. Promoters have left some room in her schedule to add more dates in Australia, before she heads to New Zealand.

Pink last toured Australia in 2013, when she broke the box office record for a female artist by selling 600,000 tickets.

The first single on her Beautiful Trauma album What About Us was at the top of the iTunes charts within minutes of being released.

Presale tickets will be available on October 16, and everyone else will be able to get them on October 20.

Sam Smith will arrive in January for his Tuesday 16th show at the Sydney Opera House.

This announcement comes a week after he dropped the first single Too Good At Goodbyes from his second album The Thrill Of It All, which comes out on 3 November.

Sam Smith last came to Australia in 2015.
