Police are investigating after a man was allegedly hit by a car and robbed at gunpoint in Sydney.

The 27-year-old victim was walking along Beauchamp St in Marrickville when he noticed a car following him, about 1.20am, police said.

The car then struck the man as he crossed the street, before several men, including one allegedly carrying a gun, got out of the vehicle.

Police said the group of men threatened the man and forced him to hand over his wallet and phone.
