Today is World Vegan Day which means it's the perfect day to try out some vegan meals or, if you're already vegan, celebrate together and eats loads of your favourite treats.

Either way it's a good time to make these incredible vegan desserts, which will knock your socks off. They're easy to make, great for sharing (or not, it's up to you) and you won't even notice they're vegan.

Along with more and more vegan cafes, restaurants, food blogs and meat and dairy alternatives, these recipes prove being vegan is not a difficult (or boring) lifestyle.

Here are nine of the best vegan desserts for everyone to enjoy on World Vegan Day -- or any other day.

1. The best chocolate chip cookies

Chocolate chip cookies are a dessert staple and you don't need butter or eggs to make them. These cookies are buttery, golden, packed with chocolate chips, and perfectly soft in the middle and chewy on the outside. Seriously, you won't even be able to tell the difference.

2. Easy baked cheesecake

This dairy-free authentic-style baked cheesecake uses vegan cream cheese (available at independent supermarkets and health food stores) cashews and coconut cream for the creamy filling. It's perfectly sweet, slightly tangy and insanely satisfying -- just like the real thing.

With a rich and fluffy chocolate base, these cupcakes are topped with a decadent chocolate icing made with a secret ingredient: avocado. Just give it a go before you knock it.

If you love pumpkin pie and its comforting cinnamon and ginger flavours, try this vegan version made with homemade pumpkin puree, maple syrup, coconut milk and spices. It's easy to make and bakes just like classic pumpkin pie.
