Palliative Care Patient Taken To See The Beach By Paramedics

Beautiful.

There are some moments in life that are just plain beautiful.

A Queensland palliative care patient who was being transported to a local hospital has experienced one of those moments after the paramedics she was travelling with took a small detour on their journey in order to grant her wish of seeing the beach again.

From the safety of her hospital bed the patient was able to see the picturesque view over Queensland's Hervey Bay, north of the Sunshine Coast, and left feeling very happy.

"Tears were shed and the patient felt very happy," the Queensland Ambulance Service said.

"Sometimes it is not the drugs/training/skills -- sometimes all you need is empathy to make a difference!"
