Banksy's Self-Destructing Artwork Is The 1 Halloween Costume To Shred Them All

It won’t guarantee your anonymity, though.

Banksy’s latest stunt has inspired a scary good Halloween costume.

Jake Eddington, aka Reddit user MrRicardo, paid tribute to the elusive British street artist’s partial shredding of his “Girl With Balloon” painting at Sotheby’s auction house this month with this simple outfit that he created in just 30 minutes for his friend Will Tucker.

“My friend needed a last minute Halloween costume,” the Little Rock, Arkansas-based Redditor captioned the snap that he shared online Monday, which is now going viral. “I think I delivered.”

The outfit needed only a plain white T-shirt, black and red pens, scissors and some imagination.

Eddington, 30, told HuffPost via email that Tucker, 25, had initially planned to go as Banksy’s “Rage, Flower Thrower” character.

“But I came up with this because I remembered Will really liking the shredding stunt and it felt more current for this year,” he added. “Everyone at the party loved it! It got him lots of attention, but when I posted it [to] Reddit I had no idea it would take off like it did!”

Banksy’s publicist did not immediately respond with a comment on the costume. The stunt has inspired a raft of other costume ideas, some similar:

Banksy, whose identity has never been confirmed, renamed the partially shredded piece that sold for $1.4 million as “Love Is In The Bin.”

He explained last week how he partially botched the stunt in this video:
