Here's Everything You Need To Know About The Centrelink #NotMyDebt Debacle

'Show me the money!'

Centrelink's #NotMyDebt debacle has dominated the news cycle in 2017, with thousands of clients left extremely frustrated by demands to repay disputed debts after a breakdown in the service chain.

You've probably seen or heard about 'Robo-Debt' and the 'Automated Data-Matching Program'; Centrelink clients told to repay their alleged debts, even if they are incorrect or in dispute; the minister responsible, Alan Tudge, emerging to say everything was just fine, and a man receiving a debt notice for a time he wasn't even on Centrelink.

Not to forget Ian, who spent 30 hours disputing a false $5500 debt on behalf of his daughter, who couldn't access her MyGov account from overseas.

So how did this all happen, and where are we at? It's a bit complicated, but stay with us and you'll be an expert in 90 seconds.
