An Etihad plane has made a forced landing in Adelaide.

Passengers have been evacuated after a Sydney-bound plane made an emergency landing in Adelaide on Saturday morning.

Etihad flight EY450 was forced to touch down at Adelaide Airport just before 5am after a cockpit warning went off, Network Nine reports. The flight was supposed to land in Sydney at 6.30am.

Passengers were reportedly told to disembark via the emergency exits due to a "warning detection" prompting the pilot to put the plane down early.

The Boeing 777 was towed to the gate to undergo safety checks. Engineers and ground crew are now said to be inspecting the aircraft.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Vision posted on social media show passengers crowded inside the airport following the frightening incident this morning.
