Australian actress Ada Nicodemou has opened up about her Motherâs Day plans and family life as the coronavirus crisis continues.
The 42-year-old âHome and Awayâ star acknowledged home schooling her son Johnas took some adjustment at first, but sheâs become âmore relaxedâ about the process.
âAs the weeks have progressed, I have been more relaxed around schooling and timings of finishing everything,â she told HuffPost Australia.
âIt is more about us spending quality time together and enjoying the process of home schooling as oppose to getting everything finished on time.â
âHome and Awayâ paused production earlier this year due to social distancing restrictions, and Ada said it was important for all cast and crew membersâ safety.
âIt was for our own safety and to be honest, I have loved spending so much time with my family,â she said.
Now with Motherâs Day around the corner, she said sheâs been âdropping small hintsâ to her son throughout the week, but most of all sheâd love âa breakie in bedâ before calling her own mother.
Sheâs also partnered with Big W for the retailerâs Motherâs Day campaign, and said social distancing doesnât mean the day canât be special.
âAlthough I know many across Australia will not be able to physically be with their mums this year, there are still plenty of ways to make your mum feel special.
âI personally love the idea of having a âmini Motherâs Day paradeâ for those who live near their mum or grandma. I think itâs a really fun way for families to decorate their cars and schedule a time to drive by their houses â to let them know youâre still thinking of them!â
