KFC To Trial Home Delivery Next Month

Chicken-on-wheels.

Fried chicken giant KFC will launch home delivery in its trial stage next month, in a move to keep-up with the rapidly changing fast food industry.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that the trial is set to launch in eight of the chain's outlets within the next three weeks. Food delivery aggregate Foodora will deliver the orders via bicycle and car.

KFC Australia's managing director Nikki Lawson spoke to The Sydney Morning Herald citing the move as a way to improve customer convenience.

Lawson said that demand and the effect on in-store trading will be key factors in determining if delivery will become a permanent fixture in the KFC business model.

"We'll be going fairly carefully," Mrs Lawson said.

"What you don't want to do is have a fabulous delivery experience and end up with a really awful consumer experience for everyone else."

There is no word yet on which outlets will be part of the trial or the hours that delivery is available.
