Updated

A man has died in a helicopter crash in outback Queensland.

Emergency services were called to a property on Sedan Dip Road near Cloncurry about 7.15am, where a mustering helicopter had crashed into a paddock after striking power lines.

The helicopter burst into flames and the sole occupant, a male pilot, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident had been reported to emergency services by another pilot.

Two ambulance crews were on scene.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau had been notified and two officers were sent up to investigate the crash, a spokesman said.

The Forensic Crash Unit were also investigating.
