With the Winter Olympics looming it's the perfect time for the first look at Margot Robbie in the biographical comic drama based on the real events surrounding the National Figure Skating Championship of 1994 in 'I, Tonya'.

Robbie stars as Tonya Harding, and tells the story of her life as well as the events leading up to and after the attack on her competitor, Nancy Kerrigan.

Ahead of the 1994 Winter Olympics, Kerrigan was attacked after a practice session in Detroit where she was struck just above the knee, forcing her to withdraw from the national championship.

It was later revealed that the attacker, a man named Shane Stant, was hired by Harding's ex-husband Jeff Gillooly and her bodyguard Shawn Eckhardt.

Robbie stars alongside Sebastian Stan, Allison Janney, Caitlin Carver, Paul Walter Hauser, Bobby Cannavale and fellow Aussie Bojana Novakovic. Director Craig Gillespie has been praised in early reviews for his darkly comic take on the media circus and the events that captured a nation.

'I, Tonya' is currently scheduled for release on February 15.
