NSW Men Charged With Alleged Firearm And Drug Supply

Two 18-year-old men were arrested in Sydney's west on Friday night.

Two 18-year-old men have been arrested and charged by the NSW Joint Counter Terrorism Team (JCTT) for alleged firearm and drug supply.

In a statement released on Friday night, NSW Police confirmed that two 18-year-old's were arrested in Auburn, in Sydney's west, "in relation to the alleged ongoing supply of firearms and drugs."

The two men were charged with seventeen offences, including unlawfully selling firearms three times or more, supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis and supplying prohibited drugs greater or equal to commercial quantity.

Ian McCartney, Australian Federal Police Acting Deputy Commissioner National Security, said that the joint operation demonstrated the flexibility of the JCTT's investigators.

"Many of our JCTT investigators have experience in the organised crime environment," he said.

"If they identify matters during the course of their investigations that concern the supply of drugs and firearms, they will act appropriately to prevent these commodities from reaching our streets and harming the community."

NSW Police Force Deputy Commissioner, Dave Hudson also said that there is no current or impending threat to the community linked to the arrests, which came as a result of ongoing investigations as part of counter-terror Operation Rosenborg.

The two men are expected to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.

Anyone with information that may assist NSW Police in investigations are urged to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or the National Security Hotline on 1800 123400.
