Quokka Leaps At Man, Man Takes Epic Photo

He got lots of 'likes'. Rightfully so.

We all know quokkas are cute. We also know they're native to Rottnest Island. But did you know they're mostly nocturnal? Well, they are. Which makes this leaping quokka all the more exciting.

Campbell Jones was cycling during his first ever visit to Western Australia's Rottnest Island when he came across a quokka. Being that it's 2017 and "pic or it didn't happen" is a phrase we're all familiar with, he went in for a selfie.

His little quokka pal was happy to oblige, but he wasn't done yet.

"As I walked back to my bike, the quokka chased after me," Jones told PerthNow.

"I put down the GoPro and it jumped at me as if to say 'come back'."

As you can see, the result is really something and deserving of the 1,400 plus likes it's received to date.

While the 'leaping quokka' pic is the obvious money shot, 'selfie quokka' is also pretty great.

That's one photogenic quokka.

It's worth noting that animals on Rottnest Island are protected by law and you could face a hefty fine for touching them.
