Selena Gomez is in the midst of a revival.

The former Disney star opened up about her transition to full-blown pop star, becoming a Sundance actress and what it's like to be the most popular girl in America in a new interview for the March issue of W magazine.

When asked about leaving her Disney record label in the dust, W magazine prompted Gomez to compare her career trajectory with "Hannah Montana," aka Miley Cyrus.

"Every single girl has done it completely differently," Gomez answered diplomatically. "Obviously she wouldn’t want to be doing what I’m doing, and I wouldn’t want to be doing what she’s doing. But I’m a fan of her music -- I don’t know if she’d say that about me."

And as for rumors that the two ever had bad blood between them, Gomez boiled down the beef to liking the same boy -- singer Nick Jonas.

"We never feuded. We both liked the same guy when we were 16," Gomez told W. "It was just a Hilary Duff - Lindsay Lohan thing: 'Oh, my God, we like the same boy!' We are now completely settled in our own lives."

And while Gomez is certainly settled, there are two topics she's sort of over: her relationship with ex Justin Bieber ("I honestly am so done") and her life being treated like a tabloid.

Luckily, Gomez says her large social media following allows her to control the story and change the narrative when she wants to.

"I'm utilizing social media right now because of my age and because, to be honest, everybody else in the world was talking about me, so I wanted a fucking say," the "Same Old Love" singer said, before admitting she wants to give up her accounts in a few years. "I honestly had to, because I didn’t really expect my life to be as public as it was. Is this going to destroy me or make me? I still have to make that choice on a daily basis."

In the meantime, Gomez has kept up a pretty hectic schedule promoting her album "Revival."

The singer/actress recently released a super sexy video for her newest single, "Hands to Myself," and performed the song on "Saturday Night Live" on Saturday.
