The latest tattooing trend is nothing short of bizarre. Why get a tattoo that is simply visual when you can get one that can be listened to?

Apparently, that is exactly what people have been thinking and so, the audio tattoo was born.

The trend involves tattooing a sound wave onto the body which only becomes audible when read by an app. The application, called Skin Motion, reads the image and then plays the sound of the tattooed wave out of the phone's speakers.

People have been inking everything from their dog's barks to their favourite song or the voices of their loved ones onto their bodies.

The saying 'a picture is worth a thousand words' really does take on a whole new meaning.
