The world is reconsidering a dip in the ocean after footage of a five-metre white shark in Sydney went viral, but there's another shark vid sure to restore your faith in the often-misunderstood fish.

This Port Jackson shark seeks out a diver in Botany Bay for help removing a hook and fishing lure embedded in its mouth.

The hook couldn't be completely removed but the nifty divers were able to get rid of the dangling lure in the video uploaded last month.

Now that we're all feeling good about our finned friends again, here's a reminder of the five-metre-plus shark cruising the northern beaches this week.

Surf's up.
