The New York Times reported that the Senate majority leader privately believes the president committed impeachable offences.
Trump will be impeached an unprecedented second time for being “an imminent threat” to the nation.
"I want no violence," Trump said as he plainly threatened more.
The 2016 Democratic presidential nominee called the Capitol attack the predictable result of "white-supremacist grievances fuelled by President Trump."
If successful it would make Trump the only president in US history to be impeached twice.
Trump is accused of inciting his supporters to riot at the US Capitol.
A draft of their Articles of Impeachment accuses Trump of abuse of power, saying he incited violence and lawlessness at the Capitol.
Calls are growing for Trump to be removed from office early, either via impeachment or the 25th amendment.
"Protecting our democracy requires us to use every arrow in our quiver," the speaker of the House said.
The comedian got personal about the impeachment acquittal on HBO's "Last Week Tonight."
