Kanye West's new album is due out in February and the rapper has grand plans on how he will unveil it to the world, lining up cinemas all over the globe to premiere the record -- including Australia.
UPDATE: Yes, we know the album isn't called Swish anymore. After publishing our original story, West changed the album's name to Waves. All the below information from cinemas was released before the name change.
EARLIER: Reports emerged Wednesday of cinemas listing the "Global Premiere of SWISH" on February 11, and soon after Hoyts cinemas in Australia spilled the beans and began advertising their sessions.
There is little information as to what the session will entail -- the "synopsis" section on Hoyts' website simply says ""Coming Soon" -- but the posters spruik "Yeezy Season 3," referring to West's apparel line for Adidas. A translation of information on a German cinema website says the Swish premiere will be "combined with the presentation of his latest fashion collection "YEEZY Season. 3 ", fans are allowed on an unprecedented pleased that is transmitted at the same time from the Madison Square Garden in hundreds of theaters worldwide art performance." (thanks, Google translate)
Several reports online state West is rumoured to be performing at the Madison Square Gardens event in New York, with the performance to be beamed into cinemas.
The German cinema site teases the session will be a "unique presentation of the new album".
Tickets are on sale now for Australian sessions in Sydney and Melbourne. This writer already snapped up a pair. These will go quickly!
