Leigh Sales has hit back at Twitter trolls and shared horrible online abuse she received after her interview with Bill Shorten on Thursday night.
The ABC's 7.30 host outed her perpetrators on her Twitter account on Friday morning referring to the incoming tweets as "a river of disgusting, sexist and relentless abuse."
One of the tweets Sales shared presents a photoshopped image of her and Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in bed together.

Following in Sales' footsteps, News Corp political journalist, Annika Smethurst, shared tweets abusing her and colleague Ellen Whinnett.

Journalist Kerri Sackville started a Twitter campaign at the end of last year to end violence against women by naming and shaming abusive men on Twitter using the hashtag #endviolenceagainstwomen.
"It's been 'ridiculously successful.' It was the top trending topic in Australia within 15 minutes and continues to trend worldwide. The support has been overwhelming," Sackville told The Huffington Post Australia.
"All sorts of people are joining in and sharing posts and stories, including men. There's some trolling now but there is so much support. Any negativity online is being dealt with by hundreds of people and getting snuffed out very quickly."
It's not the first time Sales has outclassed critics.
In September last year Sales shut down Twitter trolls who claimed she was "flirtatious" in an interview with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
