A nightmare smash at a level-crossing in rural Victoria has left a trucker driver in a critical condition in hospital and a number of train passengers injured.
The collision, near Colac in the state's southwest, occurred at a level crossing about 3.40pm on Tuesday, according to NewsCorp Australia.
The crash was so bad that the train -- a 1.21pm service from Southern Cross to Warrnambool -- derailed and a probe has been launched into the incident.
The semi-trailer driver was reportedly rushed by air to hospital while 11 people on the V/Line passenger service were also hurt.
Services on the line are not running as a result and have been replaced by buses.
The latest on the crash can be read at Warrnambool's The Standard here.
The train was carrying 100 people at the time of the smash but the truck driver is the only person to have suffered severe injuries, according to authorities.
