FYI: Just because a man employs women doesnât mean he canât be sexist.
During an interview with CNNâs Gloria Borger, Borger asked Trump âflat outâ if her father is a sexist. Trump responded that her father is âabsolutely notâ a sexist because he hired her â his daughter â to work for him.
âHeâs absolutely not a sexist,â Trump said. âThereâs no way I could be the person I am today if my father was a sexist.â
She continued to defend her father, telling Borger that Trump has â40 years of history of employing womenâ:
I would not be one of his senior-most executives and I would not be working shoulder to shoulder with my brothers. I would be working for my brothers if at all. I think actions ultimately speak louder than words. My father has 40 years of history of employing women.
This was said about the man who once commented that if Ivanka wasnât his daughter, heâd probably be dating her.
From recently hiring Stephen K. Bannon, who faced domestic violence charges in the â90s, as his campaignâs chief executive to receiving debate prep from accused sexual harasser Roger Ailes, along with the multitude of misogynist statements heâs made â itâs safe to say Donald Trump is most definitely sexist.
Hiring women doesnât magically make you a feminist and it certainly doesnât negate blatant sexism.
Editorâs note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims â 1.6 billion members of an entire religion â from entering the U.S.
