Queensland is mopping up after torrential rain, hail and lightning swept across the state to mark the start of summer on Wednesday.
Forty electrical wires were brought down leaving 11,000 customers without power. There was damage from the 3348 lightning strikes.
A woman in her 50s was struck by lightning during the wild weather.
A 13-year-old-boy was walking home from school when a large tree branch snapped an trapped him, according to 9news.

Queenslanders aren't yet in the clear. There is a 60 percent chance of rain and the possibility of another severe thunderstorm, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
But for Thursday morning -- at least -- it is mostly sunny.
