Gold Logie Nominee Grant Denyer has survived a rally car crash in Melbourne, escaping with minor injuries.
The TV host is a car racing enthusiast and was competing in the Australian Tarmac Rally Championship when he crashed with his co-driver Dale Mascatt. The pair were racing in the Lake Mountain sprint as part of the event.
Denyer and Mascatt were removed from the vehicles by an on-site medical team. They were transported to Melbourne with minor injuries as a precaution.
Denyer's manager told News Crop the star is in good spirits.
The TV personality has had a life long love of car racing, born from a passion for racing karts at the age of 16. He began professionally racing in 1999.
In 2008, Denyer was seriously injured in a monster truck demo, shattering his L1 vertebrae in six places. Though he was bedridden for eight weeks and wore a back brace for months, Denyer returned to racing.
Denyer took a break from cars between 2011 and 2013, returning to his passion after quitting Sunrise.
