Someone Bought A 20-Year-Old Macca's Sauce For Almost $20,000

We're gonna party like this sauce is from 1998.

Hold onto your hats because this is a wild ride.

The internet has a new obession: a limited-edition dipping sauce for Maccas nuggets. The "Mulan SzeChuan dipping sauce" was a limited-edition sauce in conjunction with the release of the Disney film back in 1998. It was recently mentioned on the Adult Swim series "Rick & Morty", and from there it's all anyone can think about.

Recently, a packet went up on eBay and the 28.3 gram sauce container sold for $14,700 USD, or just under $20,000 AUD.

This is the item description:

Seriously, someone apparently paid almost $20,000 for a 20-year-old Macca's sauce.

For fans who might not be willing to throw such a large sum of money toward what could potentially taste like a decomposing boot (who knows what happens after those sauces pass the 10-year mark?) there are more listings for more affordable Macca's Szechuan sauces popping up daily. There are tutorials on how to recreate the sauce based on memories of what it tasted like, and there's even a line of t-shirts. On top of all that, McDonald's hasn't ruled out bringing the sauce back.

That being said, please stop torturing their employees.

We're at mcdonalds and my mom asked for the Szechuan sauce for shits and giggles and the guy said " Oh lord not this again " #rickAndMorty
