Grey's Anatomy seems to be the gift that just keeps on giving.
America's ABC has announced that a second spin-off of the popular drama is set to be made.
The series will feature the story of a group of firefighters in Seattle. According to the ABC, the show will follow "a group of heroic firefighters. From the captain to the newest recruit, we follow these brave men and women as they risk their lives and their hearts both in the line of duty and off the clock".
While it is unclear when the drama will be released or what it will be called, details about how it will be introduced onto screens have emerged.
It is predicted that the Grey's 13th season finale will include a hospital fire. The spin-off's characters will feature in an episode in the following 14th season, before the series debuts as a stand-alone T.V. show.
This is not the first time a Grey's Anatomy spin-off has been made. In 2007, 'Private Practice' aired. The series lasted six seasons, before finishing up in 2013.
The decision to spin-off Grey's Anatomy comes as the show, now in its 13th season, still ranks as ABC's No. 1 scripted drama.
These numbers, together with a few firefighters, could be a real (fire) cracker of a combination.
