Aussie legend Steve Irwin, who tragically passed away after being struck by a stingray in 2006, is set to be honoured with a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
The Walk of Fame Committee announced that the beloved Crocodile Hunter, television personality and environmentalist would receive a star for his "outstanding contribution to the entertainment industry though his wildlife documentaries", Fairfax reported.
Irwin's daughter Bindi, 18, shared the news on Friday morning with her 280,000 Twitter followers and said she was "beyond excited" to share the news.

Irwin's wife, Terri, said that the decision was "incredibly special" and would ensure that her husband's "message of wildlife conservation is remembered".
Both at home and abroad, Irwin was known as a passionate conservationist who shared his enthusiasm with audiences all over the world, appearing on late night talk shows such as The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and even starring in his own feature film 'The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course'.
Irwin's children, Bindi and Robert, who were just 8 and 2-years-old when their father died, are known to share their father's passion -- with Robert a frequent guest on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and Bindi awarded the Australian Geographic Society's Young Conservationist of the Year award in 2014.
