Tony Abbott's public feud over marriage equality with his sister Christine Forster has been a prominent feature in the recent debate over same-sex unions, and now another member of the Abbott clan has split with the Member for Warringah -- his daughter, Frances.

She posted a photo on Instagram on Friday morning, smiling in a 'vote yes' t-shirt, accompanied by a caption spruiking her support for the marriage act to change to allow gay and lesbian couples to wed.

"YES PLEASE," she wrote, followed by three hearts.

"I don't really care much for politics. But I do really care a lot for love. All love is good. Let's celebrate it."

Abbott posted the photo on her fitness blogging page, where she shares photos of her workouts and healthy eating. The caption on her 'vote yes' photo included a number of pro-equality hashtags including #voteyes #yesyesyes #postalvote #getaroundit #marriageequality #comeonaustralia #itstime and #lovewillwin.

Frances, the middle sibling of Abbott's three daughters, is the second member of the family to publicly oppose her father's staunch stance against marriage equality.

The former Prime Minister has been engaged in a public slanging match with his sister Christine, a councillor for the City of Sydney and who wants to marry her partner Virginia Edwards, for some time over the marriage equality debate through both traditional media and online.

"The Abbott family is like every other family. We do have differences of opinion on some things but we are a normal, functional family," she told Today last month.

"The fact that Tony and I have agreed to disagree on this question in particular doesn't impact the fact that we're brother and sister. We love each other. In all other respects we try to get along."
